Pastor Michael Spurlock 
Lead Pastor | Fairview Baptist Temple

Pastor Michael Spurlock began serving as the lead pastor of Fairview Baptist Temple in the summer of 2024. With over eight years of full-time ministry experience, his calling has consistently been marked by a deep passion for souls, a commitment to powerful, Bible-centered preaching, and a heartfelt desire to reach the people of Clay County with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Before stepping into the pastorate at Fairview, Pastor Michael served as a youth and assistant pastor at two faithful churches: Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Elkview, WV, for two years, and Hanes Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, for four years. In each role, he ministered with compassion, preached with boldness, and faithfully served the church family.

Pastor Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and a Master’s Degree in Biblical Exposition from Andersonville Theological Seminary. His education, combined with his practical ministry experience, has equipped him to rightly divide the Word of Truth and shepherd God’s people with wisdom and love.

He and his wife, Kaylee, are high school sweethearts and were joyfully married in the summer of 2020. Together, they love serving God side by side in ministry. Kaylee’s heart for people and strong faith make her an incredible support and partner in the work of the Lord.

Now serving in Clay County, Pastor Michael is dedicated to proclaiming Christ, strengthening the local church, and leading Fairview Baptist Temple with vision, integrity, and a heart for revival.
